S3E7 – Super Guilt Bros. Beat-Off

This week we’re covering season 3, episode 7 of Spider-Man: The Animated Series – ‘The Man Without Fear’.

Things aren’t going to well for Peter. He’s still a fugitive with the FBI on his tail, Big Bad Aunt Anna is forming the civilian sinister six with Dr. Jerk, and ol’ Willy Fisk is powering up his dad armour for a throwdown. Luckily for the wallcrawler, he’s got the OG King DeDe on his side: Matt Murdock aka Daredevil.

Will the Super Guilt Bros survive to beat off for another day, or will the man without fear go the way of Poochie?

We do have some stills (some cool, some dumb as hell) from this episode below.

Episode Stills!

Daredevil may be the man without fear, kicker of asses in this show, but he doesn’t know how to take an exploding building quite like the wallcrawler.

Tough break, DD.

“This isn’t what it looks like!”

Way to embarrass yourself in front of a Fisk henchman, my guy.

The little smile of “I know you’re Peter Parker but I won’t say a word”.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.19.35

Damn. Jerk doctor team-up with Aunt Anna? Pete is really taking a beating in this conversation.

Peeking through windows is never a good look.

Neither is trying to talk to your ex by assaulting her in a hallway…

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.23.37

“Why would Aunt Anna set my spider sense off?” It might be because of that Chameleon belt she’s got going on. Or because she’s the absolute worst.

In a rare moment, Kingpin gets wistful about his childhood with Smythe.

Where this lil dude was yet to become hench or shave off that awful neo-nazi hairdo.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.29.51

Of all the places to be, he trips up his dad during a bank heist.

So in this show it turns out that Kingpin was originally Moriarty Wilson before he was Wilson Fisk, but he got enough tech to wipe his slate clean.

One of the funnier things about this episode is Chameleon trying to mess with DD by turning into him, not knowing he’s blind.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.42.01

Love this shot of DD scaring the bejeezus out of Richard Fisk.

‘Nuff Said.

Imagine how much of a dope Spidey feels knowing that Crime Central was accessible through a huge draw-bridge in the Crystler Building all this time.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.44.53

A classic, run-on-their-heads Mario stomp move from the webhead.

“Objection!”

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.45.41

Daredevil and Fisk have a sword fight basically, and it’s super entertaining.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.49.12

When Spidey gets involved he’s swiftly uppercutted out of here.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.50.13

All wrapped up like a Christmas turkey – shame it’s Chameleon in disguise again.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.50.44

Coochie Coo, who wants a belly rub?

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.53.10

What’re you gonna do? The mantra of Robbie Robertson.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.53.25

Love this shot of Daredevil and Spidey’s farewell.

Screenshot 2021-01-20 at 17.54.44

Matt Murdock was heading to Washington to start his own show – shame that it never came to pass.
