To follow up our retrospective review of Blade, we discussed the Guillermo Del Toro-directed sequel that for many is the best of the series.
We have a Patreon!!
We make the podcast for fun and are by no means making any money from it – and that’s fine by us. Buuuuut the cost of the equipment and the rss feed to host our episodes does cost a little and it does all add up – so if you want to contribute to the podcast with a small donation each month that would be amazing.
Also, if you’re willing to go the extra mile to support us this way, we’ll make sure you get some bonus content too. If you want bonus episodes, such as our upcoming Blade movie retrospectives, comic discussions and other episodes too crazy for our regular feed, you’ll have full access to them if you choose to become a Patreon.

BLADE (1998) Retrospective: Camp Masterpiece or Glorious Trash?
Back in 1998, the superhero genre wasn’t nearly as powerful – and then Blade came along.
We look back and review Blade after revisiting (finally) as a new bonus episode. Is it iconic garbage, a camp masterpiece, or something else entirely? Some podcasts are always tryin to ice-skate uphill, huh?

S2E8 – Duel of the Hunters / It’s Man-Spider O’Clock!
This week we’re covering season 2, episode 8 of Spider-Man: The Animated Series – ‘Duel of the Hunters’
Recap: 3:33
Review: 39:37
Comic Origins: 42:19
It’s Man-Spider O’Clock!
The Punisher has his hands full with Spider-Man after our hero transformed into a horrifying, dopey monster – something he still thinks he has the ability to sort by himself. Hey, maybe the man’s just got a lot of free time after his family picnics have been cancelled. Too soon?
He’s joined by Kraven, fresh off the boat to bear-hug his new bestie and join in on the dogpile when Man-Spider starts creepin on New York’s redheads. Along the way we end up talking about Stop the Pigeon, kite daydreams and… 9/11. Does acid spit melt steel beams? Oh, and also Morbius is floating around.
After our episode discussion, we talk about the various spider transformations that Peter Parker has gone through in the comics. It’s pretty wild.

Weird Lore BS #7: The Mud-Thing
“Oh god” – Henry, every few seconds this episode.
A Sandman and a Hydro-Man walk into a bar, and what follows is the deepest of shames from the void itself. We’ve got Travis Rave, a cavalcade of King Kong references, the worst Broadway musical of all time and the most confusing sentence in history.
This edition of Weird Lore Bullshit Corner covers The Amazing Spider-Man #217-218, as well as a look back at the origin of Flint Marko/William Baker/Sandman.

S2E7 – Enter The Punisher|Super Punisher Sunshine
This week we’re covering season 2, episode 7 of Spider-Man: The Animated Series – ‘Enter The Punisher’.
This week Frank Castle turns up to complicate things, just as the ol’ webhead is grappling with four new grapplers himself. On top of things, we’ve still got the Magical Mr. Morbius to contend with. Then we’ll see what happens when Jem & the Holograms go dark, when 3-D animation invades Aunt May’s home and a surprise appearance from F.L.U.D.D.
We also touch on the very first appearance of The Punisher in The Amazing Spider-Man 129!

Best Movies and TV of 2019 All-Out Spectacular!
A look back on all the best movies and TV we watched in 2019. Not much superhero talk this time round!
2019 was a garbage year that we’re more than happy to leave behind – but there were some good things to distract us: Booksmart Little Women have their Knives Out, Irishman living the High Life, Beale St is Burning and maybe the real Parasite is Us.
Warning: we talk Star Wars, maybe for the last time.
Also covered: Midsommar, John Wick 3, The Last Black Man In San Francisco, Shazam, Glass, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Avengers: Endgame, Black Mirror, Watchmen, The Boys, Bojack Horseman, I Think You Should Leave, You, and… Game of Thrones.
Plus some bonus chat about Jack’s favourite comics he read in 2019!

S2E5 – Swole Mutant Bathhouse | Mutants’ Revenge
This week we’re covering season 2, episode 5 of Spider-Man: The Animated Series -‘Mutant’s Revenge’.
We’ve got a crazy episode for you guys this week, with the X-Men crossover two-parter coming to a close with plenty of buddy cop shenanigans, trash fights, awful puns, henchman juggling and more hallways than a Netflix Marvel series.
Jack talks reading The Clone Saga, Henry gets turned into the Beast, Hobgoblin records his own voice acting, Ray Winstone makes a guest appearance, and Smythe punched right in the kisser.
After all that nonsense, we talk about ‘Spider-Man: The Mutant Agenda’ – the mini-series that inspired this episode.
